It would be useful to create sickness reasons for example you can choose absence category and type (SSP or different) but would be good to have reason like cold/flu, headache and if we could have a report to look at the pattern.
Chronicle already supports the option to have specific/defined Sick Absence and Holiday types in system settings - please contact support or your Super User for assistance.

Or you can just add the reason in the notes field for sickness - those notes appear on the absence/sickness report, so you would see the pattern?
