CONSISTENT Employee Alphabetisation
Order names the same way consistently, make it sensible or make so that we, as users, can choose how employee names are ordered in each instance.
In different sections of Chronicle the names of employees are ordered in different ways:
Sometimes they are placed in order of their First name.
Other times they are placed in order of their Second name.
there are also some cases were they are in order of their Employee ID I believe.
I am too confused from using this software to accurately recollect.
This inconsistency results in consistent and unnecessary confusion.
Please change swiftly or I will change vocations, create an alternative and superior T&A System that is only semi-functional but will for sure out-compete Chronicle.
Thank you ever so much🤩

Appreciate the feedback — and the career-threat-turned-startup-pitch.
You’re right: the employee ordering isn’t consistent across all areas of Chronicle. In some places it uses first name, in others surname, and in a few it falls back to employee ID. It’s not ideal, and it does create avoidable confusion.
We’re looking to fix this by standardising the logic across the system and adding a user-selectable option so you can control how names are ordered (first name, surname, or ID) wherever it’s relevant. Once that change is live, the lists will behave predictably.
In the meantime - exactly what screens is this causing the most frustration.
Thanks for raising it — no need to launch a rival “semi-functional” T&A system just yet.

Hi,
thanks for your reply. I wouldn’t say there is any screen in particular, it is more the fact that the sorting criteria changes in an unpredictable manner, that is what causes the frustration.
Thank you for looking into this issue
