Confirmation of Viewing Documents/Workflow

Is there any way to develop a feature that when an employee clicks on a workflow document or announcement that it shows they have viewed it even if they do not ‘sign it’. Or force a signature or confirmation that it has been viewed before they close the document?

    Could you clarify please, which option fits the need better?

    1. A passive “viewed” record (activity log)

    • The system marks the document/announcement as “Viewed” as soon as the employee opens it (or after a threshold like “open for 10 seconds” / “scrolled to the end”).

    OR

    1. An explicit acknowledgement toggle (soft confirmation)

    • A visible button/checkbox like “I’ve read this” (no signature), which they can click to acknowledge.

      Hi, to be honest either would be great. Option would work if it was only able to be viewed by management or admin but Option 2 would be preferable as we would like the employee to know that they have confirmed they have received and read the document. But with option 2 we would prefer that the employee can’t close without acknowledging anything.
