A drag-and-drop board for allocating staff to shifts one day at a time. The left panel lists your people, the right panel shows a card per shift, and you drag a person onto a card to make that their scheduled shift for the day.
Every drag saves immediately — there is no Save button and no undo.
Operations where the day's allocation is decided on the day — packing lines, cleaning teams, wards, depots. Roster patterns are still built the usual way; Daily Rota overrides them for the one day you're working on.
It answers "who's in today, who's spare, and who still needs a shift?" on one screen, instead of opening each employee in turn.

View → Daily Rota, below Pegboard in the left navigation. Two things must both be true before anyone sees it:
Super Users see the screen as soon as the company setting is on. If the setting is off, the DailyRota row is hidden from the user access table entirely — turn the setting on first, then grant the access.
Pick the day with the date box, the ‹ / › arrows, or Today. The board re-reads statuses, assignments and counts for each new date.
Choose who to show. The Select Tags… box drives the left-hand list and offers only tags your account can access; it pre-selects the first tag on your list. Type into Search Employees… to narrow further.
The status filters add people rather than removing them. By default the list shows only people who are available. Each button pulls a group back in:
You can have any combination on at once. This is how you cover a gap — see who's on holiday or rest, and allocate them deliberately, with the colour coding following them onto the board.
Assign by dragging a row onto a shift card; you'll get "Shift saved successfully!". To do several at once, tick the rows and drag any one of them — the whole ticked group goes. Drag a name chip from card to card to move someone.
Remove with the ✕ on a name chip, or tick several chips and use the bin in the card header. Both ask for confirmation first.
Copy Setup / Paste Setup reuses a day's allocation: set the day up, click Copy Setup, navigate to the target day, click Paste Setup and confirm. The copy is held only while you stay on the screen.
Print PDF opens your browser's print dialog. The printout is the shift cards only, two per row, under "Staff Rota Daily Shift Allocation" with the full date — the toolbar and employee list are left out, and the status colours are kept.
Manage (above the grid) sets the board layout — drag rows to reorder, untick to hide a shift. Use – / + next to GRID for 1–6 columns.
Removing someone does more than clear the tile. It deletes their scheduled shift for the day and the day's shift record, including any work record built on it. Clockings survive but are no longer attached to a shift. It's undoing the allocation, not tidying the display.
Assigning emails the employee if they have an email address on their record. Bulk-assigning ten people sends ten emails.
The tag filter deliberately doesn't touch the board. The cards always show every assignment for the day across all tags you can see, so you never lose sight of someone already allocated.
Shift order and hidden shifts are company-wide. Everyone using Daily Rota sees the arrangement you save, so agree it with colleagues first. Grid column count is personal and isn't remembered between visits.
One shift per person per day. Dropping someone on a second card moves them; it never duplicates them. If they already have a full- or half-day holiday booked, its duration is realigned to the contracted hours of the shift you assign.
