Holiday, sickness and absence

  • Holiday accrual during sickness and statutory leave. Each holiday, sickness and absence type has a new Counts towards holiday accrual switch. For irregular-hours and part-year workers, ticked sickness and absence earns holiday

  • Former employees on the Calendar. Employees who left in the last three months can be viewed on the Calendar. This helps you answer questions about holidays they took or booked before leaving.

Time sheets and work records

  • Choose your Time sheets columns. You can pick which columns appear in the employee grid on the Time sheets screen, and Chronicle remembers your choice for your login.

  • Edit exceptional items directly on the Work Record screen.

Clocking terminals

  • Terminals widget on the Dashboard. It lists every clocking terminal or access point, highlighting those that hasn’t sent a heartbeat in the last 15 minutes

  • Assigned employee and facial enrolment counts appear on the GT/IT terminal list and on the terminal setup screen. You can see how many people can use each terminal and how many are set up to clock by face.

  • Group-aware downloads. The download list shows only employees in the GT/IT terminal’s group. Removal has its own full list, so you can still remove leavers and people who have moved to another group.

  • Bulk re-send. You can re-send all assigned employees to several GT/IT terminals at once from the terminal list, or send selected employees to every terminal.

  • Automatic sending. When you save an employee’s record, Chronicle sends them to their assigned terminals, so a new starter can clock in on their first day. Downloads also show a confirmation message.

Self service and permissions

  • Mandatory cost centre and activity at clock-in. A new per-user permission makes self-service users pick a cost centre and activity when they clock in, so the fire roll call shows where people actually are.

Payroll, absence and reporting

  • New reports: Clocking Device, Budget Plan and Shift Details.

  • Back-dated pay rate changes. Pay rate changes dated up to six months back are applied overnight, and each one is added as a row on the employee’s Remunerations tab.

  • Quicker employee setup. Badge ID is optional now when you save an employee.

  • Cascade HRI integration speed up.

Mobile apps

  • Employee app. A new per-user permission hides the Start break and End break buttons. Camera and photo upload are more reliable, including on foldable phones.

Reliability and performance

We’ve made Chronicle faster and more reliable across the app. Time sheets, work records and dashboards load more quickly. The Calendar, Flexitime, Manage Exceptions, employee and user screens, and the self-service holiday tools are more responsive.

Coming soon

  • Chronicle Terminal App. It turns a tablet into a full clocking terminal, a strong alternative to a physical device. Employees can clock in with on-device face recognition. Setup is guided, and face enrolment happens right on the tablet.
